Denis Maragno

denisPhD, Post-Doc researcher in New Technologies for the City, the Land and the Environment. Urban Planner and Geographer. From 2013 he is a research fellow and teaching assistant at the University Iuav of Venice at the Department of Design and Planning in Complex Environments; title research: “Remote Sensing and Urban Planning: new technologies for environmental, urban and maritime spatial planning in a scenario of climate change.” Personal skills are focused on the integration of ICT with the activities for to climate proof planning, Knowledge Management and Resilient Cities. He participated in several European Projects with the themes of urban, environmental and maritime resilience.

Filippo Magni

filippoPhD, Post-Doc researcher, PhD in Regional Planning and Public Policies at the Iuav University of Venice. Urban planner. Degree in Planning and Environmental Policy at the University Iuav of Venice. He has a master’s degree in Territorial Studies and Population released from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Member of network Young Planner ECTP-CEU and Resilience Lab, the Italian network for the promotion of actions and strategies of resilience. Since 2011 he is a research fellow at the Department of Design and Planning in Complex Environments University Iuav. During these years he has worked for European projects of territorial cooperation, which concerned issues of sustainability and resilience in urban and regional planning.

Alberto Innocenti

foto-sito-profiloPhD student, Architect and Urban Planner. PhD Student in Hydro-Logic at Iuav. After graduating in Science of Architecture at the Politecnico of Milan, he moves to Venice at Iuav to follow the European Master “Planning and policies for cities, environment and landscape”. Here, in 2014, he graduates with a thesis entitled “On the road of LEUVENSESTEEWEG/Chaussee de Louvain. Look at a complex territory and a constant population growth in the metropolitan area of Brussels “. During the university studies, he accomplishes a 10 months internship at the Government of Flanders at the Regional Planning Research Department with whom he is involved in the project of riqualfication of the northern metropolitan part of Brussels Capital Region. Since May, 2015 he has been collaborating as assistant researcher at the University Iuav of Venice.

Giulia Lucertini

giulia1PhD, Post-Doc researcher, Architect and planner, she obtained her PhD in Real Estate Appraisal and Local Economy at the University of Padua in co-tutorship with the University of Paris Dauphine, with a thesis focused on the evaluation of public policies. From 2013 she is a researcher at the Department of Design and Planning in Complex Environments at the Iuav University of Venice, she deals with European projects plannig and management and she work on national and international research projects. Her main topics of interest are land use planning, environmental and strategic planning, adaptation and mitigation to climate change, evaluations of cost/benefit and multi-models and decision support systems.

Federica Appiotti

553004_10200946612002191_950908603_n1PhD, Post-Doc researcher, PhD in Civil and Environmental Protection at the Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy, with a thesis focusing on the effects and impacts of climate change at local scale and on the identification of some strategies, useful to the Local Civil Protection, to prevent and mitigate this effects. Afterwards she covered a Post-Doctoral position at the Department of Design and Planning in Complex Environments of Iuav University in Venice with a project focused on the integration of the concepts of risk, resilience and adaption in the management of marine areas (MSP) through an ecosystem-based approach. Currently she collaborates with Iuav University and UNIVPM. Her interest includes resilience, risk perception and awareness, and the importance of strategic communication and participative process in the environmental management.

Irene Bianchi

foto_irenePhD student, Research Assistant and lecturer at the Institute for Urban And Regional Studies of the Berlin University of Technology and PhD student in Urban Planning, Design and Policy at the Polytechnic University of Milan. Irene holds a master degree in Planning and Policies for Cities, Environment and Landscapes (University IUAV of Venice – University of Girona) and has a background in economics and social sciences. She carried out research activities at Iuav, Free University of Bolzano, Berlin University of Technology, working on themes related to environmental planning – including maritime spatial planning and integrated coastal management -  and urban policies. Her current research interests include: planning and climatic risk reduction, post-disaster planning, community resilience, urban and environmental conflicts, social and organizational learning.

Vittore Negretto

13470030PhD student, Architect. Studied Science of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan before completing his master's studies in Architecture and Innovation:Sustainability at the IUAV University of Venice. As an intern at Washington DC's Office of Planning he has been involved in processing studies and strategic plans to develop urban and environmental areas. During this period he wrote the thesis “A Resilient Neighborhood” on Washington DC's climate change resiliency developing strategies and technical solutions to adapt and mitigate extreme precipitation's and urban heat island's effects in a developing neighborhood. Since March 2016, he has been engaged as research fellow at Iuav University of Venice, developing Guidelines to build an adaptation plan to climate change known as “Resilient Padua”. Currently he is an FSE grant holder on “innovative building techniques and materials to counteract impacts of climate change in urban areas”.
