International Workshop: “design and environmental planning for extractive landscapes“
28 September > 06 October 2015
11 students of Territorial Planning Master and Architecture Master of Iuav University of Venice were called to rethink, redesign and rebuild the mining landscapes that characterize the Municipality of Vedelago.
The “mission” of this workshop was to design a long-term plan in which the natural and anthropogenic coexist harmoniously, where contrasts and contacts are seen not only as break points, but above all as a starting point for a new liveability. Students of the University Iuav of Venice, supported by the Municipality of Vedelago, have developed ideas for Vedelago 2040, trying to heal wounds and enhancing its potential. The results are suggestions for sustainable development, able to reconcile economical requirements with environmental and social issues.
